Life happens. Clogs happen. Broken pipes happen. Water back-ups happen. We know. We’ve seen it all. And even though some emergency calls just can’t be avoided, there are a few precautions you can take to save yourself the headache and cost of calling us out. (Yes, we’re really telling you how to avoid calling us!).
Even though this equipment is helpful and convenient, it can’t dispose of everything. Make sure you know what your garbage disposal can handle… and what it can’t. Can the motor handle orange peels? Egg shells? We can also tell you what every disposal can’t handle-- peach pits, bones, and your kids’ toys.
And talking about toys, toilets happen to fall victim to the “Make it Disappear” game that young children love to play. But we can’t completely blame the little ones, either-- adults make the mistake of flushing feminine products, diapers, and even fluffier, plusher toilet paper-- all of which can cause immediate blockage or issues over time.
Many people love storage racks that hang over shower fixtures in their bath. While they free up space and make your shampoos, conditioners, and razors easier to reach, they can also add serious weight. Avoid the possibility of a broken shower head and use another type of shower caddy/organizer.
Avoid the frustration and cost of frozen and broken pipes in your walls by taking precautions to keep them running. We have a whole article about that very subject-- head over (LINK) to read more.
Know where the water shut-off to your home’s water supply is. Make sure that everyone in the house does, too. When a plumbing emergency happens, you can avoid even more damage by turning off the water supply.
While these precautions can help to avoid emergencies, damage, and disaster, you can’t see the future. Rest assured, we are here for you. Need help or have an emergency? Call 709-489-5657. Write it down-- hang it on your fridge. We’ll be there to help.
